I’m Yisa (she/her), an art director based in New York City, on unceded Lenape territory.
My job is to make your sh*t look good. Dumb good. Bonus points if we can get a little dreamy, campy, or surreal.
But “good” can be subjective, ever-changing. That’s why my process is rooted in a tailor-made creative strategy, informed by meticulous competitor, trend, and landscape research. With the right insights, we have a better shot at making magic. The goal is a joyous, fruitful collaboration between me, you, and your audience.
I’ve worked with clients like HubSpot, Freelancer's Union, Kin Euphorics, Yahoo’s In The Know, and more to lead shoots, devise marketing campaigns, and create content. Before going freelance, I served as Sunshine Sach's first Art Director, briefly taught Super 8 filmmaking with Mono No Aware, and was a Curatorial Fellow (and comms padawan) at Creative Time. I received a degree in Film and Art History from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a certificate in Graphic Design from the Shillington School.
I’m also a founding member of B L A C K M A G I C, an Afrofuturist bookclub and skill-sharing academy.
Let's make something. Drop me a line. ✌🏽
